Virto/Elcan Manufactures Multi-frequency Vibratory Screeners for the Powdered Metal Industry

Multi-frequency vibratory screeners are used for the control screening and classification of “difficult-to-screen” powder metals on meshes with an aperture ranging from 15 to 300 microns.

ScreenX separators make it possible to effectively screen fine powders such as:
  • Tungsten
  • Aluminum
  • Iron
  • Nickel
  • Cobalt
  • Zinc
  • Copper
  • Tantalum
  • Titanium
  • Carbides
  • Oxides and alloys
  • Graphite
  • Other various materials

In comparison to traditional and ultrasonic separators, the patented ScreenX multi-frequency adapter MFVExcite vibratory screeners allows to obtain much greater screen capacity per sqm, more qualitative separation and a significant increase in output of the screen undersize product.

Some examples run on the Virto/Elcan ScreenX machines:
  • Titanium powder was sifted on a 15 microns mesh with a feed capacity 70 kg/h per square meter.
  • Tugsten carbide powder was sifted on a 75 microns mesh with a feed capacity 160 kg/h per square meter.
  • Zinc powder was sifted on a 45 microns mesh with the specific feed capacity 1700 kg/h per square meter.
  • Molybdenum powder was sifted on a 44 microns mesh with the specific feed capacity 55 kg/h per square meter.
  • Stainless steel powder was sifted on 44 microns mesh with the specific feed capacity 160 kg/h per square meter.
The screening efficiency factor for the above powders is never less than 95-98%.

In comparison to traditional and ultrasonic separators, the patented multi-frequency adapter MFVExcite allows a ScreenX to obtain much greater screen capacity per sqm, more exact separations and a significant increase in output of the screen undersize product.

Because the fine sieve in the circular screeners is not stretched, even in the case of abrasive powders, the lifetime of screens are much longer than the stretched thin screens found in the standard and ultrasonic separators. Replacement of the mesh is simple and can be done on site in a few minutes.
